Supertramp is a British progressive rock and pop rock group formed in 1969. The band achieved great success in the 1970s with albums such as "Crime of the Century" (1974), "Breakfast in America" (1979), and "Paris" (1980).

Supertramp was founded by two musicians, Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies, who met in London. They recruited other members to complete the band's lineup. Their self-titled debut album, "Supertramp," was released in 1970 but did not achieve significant commercial success.

However, Supertramp gained recognition with their third album, "Crime of the Century," released in 1974. The album reached the top of charts in Europe and helped the band gain popularity in the United States. It features iconic songs such as "Dreamer" and "Bloody Well Right." The following album, "Crisis? What Crisis?" (1975), was also well received.

In 1977, Supertramp released the album "Even in the Quietest Moments...," which had some success with the song "Give a Little Bit." However, their true commercial breakthrough came in 1979 with the album "Breakfast in America." The album was a huge success, topping charts in many countries and featuring hits like "The Logical Song," "Take the Long Way Home," and "Goodbye Stranger."

In 1980, Supertramp released the live album "Paris," recorded during their worldwide tour. The album was also highly popular and further solidified the band's reputation as an exceptional live act.

After "Paris," Supertramp released several albums that did not achieve the same level of commercial success as their previous work. In 1983, Roger Hodgson left the band to pursue a solo career, leaving Rick Davies as the primary member of Supertramp.

The band continued to release new albums and tour but did not regain the same level of popularity. Nevertheless, Supertramp maintained a loyal fan base, and their classic songs are still cherished today.
